eBook Publishing

Ebook Publication Is A Breeze On Clickbank.

A lot has changed in the world because of the internet and nowhere is that more noticeable than the publishing industry. At one time the big publishing houses ruled the land like wizards from stone castles and any fledgling author who wanted to have a prayer to get a book published had to scale those walls. That meant a lot of talented writers and some excellent books never saw the light of day because the executives in those companies did not see a profit margin in it for them.

Just as in the music industry where music distributing has been completely overhauled by the internet, publishing has gone through a similar revolution. It’s a people’s revolution too because no longer is it the large publishing houses that tell the public what they can or cannot read. Now good authors can get their works out there simply by producing an ebook. And merchandising services like Clickbank have completed the cycle by making merchandising, marketing and distribution a breeze as well.

There was a time that the term ‘self publishing” created the image of some pitiful quack with an axe to grind paying one of those do it yourself companies to put his book into prepaid print to be sold out of the back seat of his car. But there is a new respectability to self publishing because so many ebooks have reached the public that were of just as high a quality anything the big publishers could have put out. And for the aspiring author, moving to an internet based business model when it comes to publishing your book makes a lot of sense.

It is the ability of even writers just starting out to be a big success with online publishing that has made this revolution possible. And there is no doubt that the reason for that ability becoming so easy for writers to access is due in a large part to Clickbank. Clickbank being an internet marketplace devoted 100% to digital product sales and distribution is an ideal place for an ebook writer to find success. And by simply going through the well known steps for merchandising their works, an author doesn’t have to become an “expert” internet marketer at all, just be good at following directions.

Step one is simply to write your book. You, the author know how to do this and the merchandiser doesn’t need to teach you your craft. A word processor any sort is a fine tool for the composition and you can put the finished product together as a PDF file or as a compiled ebook using a commercially available ebook compiler.

Now to give Clickbank what they need to merchandise your ebook, you will need a very simple web site. This doesn’t have to have dancing babies on it, just basically two pages of html that can respond to internet traffic flow when Clickbank sends it your way. After setting up the web site, just follow ClickBank’s instructions to set up the ecommerce software on the site which will also make possible the payment for the book. That’s all you need and you have the means to make a lot of money selling your ebook on Clickbank.

Now you are free to play with that web site and make it as elaborate as you wish. But the beauty of the simplicity of the basic Clickbank system is it can work at the barebones level just fine and let you go back to do what you are good at doing and what you love to do which is to write. As you compose your next masterpiece, things will be happening in the marketing of your existing book on the market that you don’t have to do a thing to help along.

The 150,000 affiliates on Clickbank will get wind of this new exciting ebook product and they can quickly link it into their sales mechanism without even telling you it happened. That means that a virtual internet marketing army will be able to sell your book with complete liberty taking their small commission and bulging out your bank account while you never know who they are and you never will know. All you know is the market value of your book will be fully realized on Clickbank which means financial stability for you. And for a creative soul, that is a highly prized commodity.

Viral Marketing Trumps Email Deliverability.

The internet has turned another corner in the last few years. This should come as no surprise. The one constant about the internet is change. But the changes that have become a reality in the last few years have made fundamental changes to how we view the internet, how we use it and what we expect when we go on a web site and interact with the web site owners any more.

From wiki control over web sites to YouTube to social networks, the emphasis of the internet has shifted from the operators of web sites to the users. And with this change the way those of us involved in using the internet for marketing have begun to change the way we do business as well.

The model for internet marketing that predates the shift to the WEB 2.0 methodology was heavily dependent on email as the primary line of communication with the customer. Next to online sales, email was the way customers sent in inquiries and the way customer support was handled. And other than online advertising, email was the most sophisticated method for internet marketing we had at our disposal.

Over time, however, the use of email for marketing began to see abuses in the form of spam. More and more the need to protect customers from spam communications has so dominated the world of email marketing that has become a cost burden for online merchants and customers alike and it has slowed or stopped email deliverability to the point that it is uncertain on any given business day whether you can depend on email to keep your business running or not.

As a result, a discipline and a methodology for circumventing email delivery interference points such as spam filters has imposed yet another new area of online knowledge that takes time away from running your business so you can focus on working with ISPs and learning the methods of spam control so you can carefully construct your emails so at least they will get to your customers. But the methods you have to use to jump through hoops to get your marketing emails to customers have come to dominate email marketing so heavily that the message and the communication has almost taken a back seat to just getting the email delivered.

It is interesting that the big changes in how the internet operates in some ways are going to retire this cumbersome email system before we come up with a solution to the email delivery problem. There are some very sophisticated internet marketing techniques that are showing themselves to be highly effective that never depend on email at all. And as modern internet merchants turn to these methods, the problem of email delivery may never be solved as much as it is ignored and allowed to die out on its own.

Viral marketing is one way modern internet marketers are recruiting new customers and getting the word out about products and services by tapping the power of video and the instinct internet denizens have for downloading free stuff. Viral marketing is a method where the merchant creates a download that is desirable. A funny video, a musical performance or an ebook make great viral marketing tools. But along with the free ‘toy”, the download carries the marketing message of the merchant and is downloaded into the internet network of users quickly and with no cost to the merchant or the user.

The viral part occurs naturally as users upload the video or link to it on other web sites or share it with each other on blogs or through email. The marketing message spreads from customer to customer, like a virus spreads the flu and as it spreads, it directs new customers back to the merchant web site to become active customers.

This is a powerful marketing technique that depends on nothing more than human nature for success. And unlike the cumbersome email system, viral marketing has its own way of avoiding ‘spam”, it is fast and it is cost free. But above all the one trait that makes viral marketing trump email marketing as the means to success for the future of internet marking is a simple principle that always attracts business people. It works.

Creating Your Info Product.

Whether you choose to create an ebook yourself, or hire someone else to write your ebook or program your software, you will still need certain tools to put your product together. If you are writing an ebook, you will need to consider what format you deliver it in. There are a few different standards out there.

Many ebooks come delivered in a compiled version. What this means is that you create the ebook by putting each chapter onto its own html page. You then place all of the pages in a single folder on your server. Then, select one of the many ebook compiler programs and use it to compile the ebook.

In selecting the software that you choose to use as your compiler, decide whether you want to make your book brandable or not. A brandable book is one where you allow your reader to either pass the book out for free, or one where you provide your reader with some form of redistribution rights.

To encourage the reader to redistribute your ebook, you allow the reader to include his or her own name and usually URL in the ebook. If you would really like someone to work at redistribution, consider including brandable affiliate links as well. These are things that you should carefully plan out when putting your ebook together.

Another format you can use for your ebook is the Adobe PDF format. There is no need to purchase an expensive Adobe product to do this. You can obtain a great little tool free of charge. It is called PDF 995 and its companion product, PDFEdit 995. You can get it at:

http://www.pdf995.com (make sure you get both downloads!)

This is the tool that I use. Here’s how it works. Download all of the separate components to PDF995. Then, install them on your computer. Once they are installed, open up your ebook in whatever program you used to create it (usually Word or WordPad). Next, select “Print”. Hit the print button. This will cause a new window to open, prompting you for a file name. Select a name for your ebook file and hit Save. If you are using the free version of PDF995, a small ad window will open. Don’t worry – this only happens when CREATING a PDF file ,.. your readers will never see the ad.

Immediately after you have printed the file, you will need to open PDFEdit995. Again, you will see a short ad upon open. Once inside, this is where you can add features to the last file that you printed. You can do things like add page numbers, make hyperlinks clickable, add comments, add bookmarks, etc.

The PDF995 suite of tools is very useful in creating info products. The price is certainly right as well! I would recommend using PDF995 for all of your ebooks. You can even make brandable PDF files with a little tool called Easy PDF.

You should also be aware that you should NOT use DOC (Word) files when distributing an ebook. This is to protect the security of your work. (The only time that you would want to distribute an ebook in DOC format is if you were transferring private label rights to your purchaser.)

Here’s the reason. You want to make it as difficult as possible for your reader to steal your valuable, intellectual property. You’ve put a lot of time and effort into your info product. It would be a shame to have it stolen. The harder you make it for someone to steal from you, the less it will happen. In fact, you should even consider disabling the right click function in your PDF document as well. This doesn’t prevent people from copying the text, it just makes it more difficult.

Once you have decided to create and ebook as your digital info product, you should think about the branding process as a potential marketing tool. One of the better tools we have used is Viral PDF Software, as it is a powerful tool and very simple to use.

Personalizing Autoresponders.

Have you ever walked into a store in your town, and been addressed by name? This has probably happened to you at stores that you frequent often. The shop owner knows your name, and uses it. He remembers you, and he wants you to know that he cared enough about you and your business to remember you. In the offline world, this is just one aspect of customer support.

Customer service like this is almost impossible to achieve on the Internet, but some semblance of it can exist when you personalize your autoresponder messages. Autoresponder messages can be set up to address people by their first or last name – or both. In fact, there is quite a bit of personalized information that can be added, depending on the autoresponder that you are using.

The information is included in the autoresponder messages by using codes. Each autoresponder will use different codes to insert the information in your messages. You simply write your message, and put the codes where you want the personalized information to appear. For instance, your message may start out with “Hello (code for first name)! In this case, the person’s first name will be inserted where that code is.

Personalizing your autoresponder messages will most likely improve your response rate. Research has shown that emails that are personalized with the person’s first name are opened more often, and those people are generally more receptive to the contents of the email message. It is usually very easy to do. You write one message, using the codes where you want the personalization, then, no matter who that one email is sent out to, their personal information will appear where the codes are.

Of course, the autoresponder must collect the information first. This is done with the use of forms that activate the autoresponder. For instance, if you are giving away a free ebook, and you have your visitor fill out a form with their email address to receive the download instructions for the ebook by email, that form should collect any type of information that you want for personalization – such as a first name, as well as the email address. If that information is not collected, the autoresponder won’t have anything to insert where that code appears in your messages!

Take a look around the control panel of your autoresponder, and find out what type of personalization you can add to your autoresponder messages. You may be very surprised at the improved results!

When you are using an autoresponder system you want to ensure that you are totally CAN SPAM complaint. There are many autoresponders on the Internet boasting many different attributes but at the end of the day you DO NOT WANT TO BE OUT OF COMPLIANCE with Federal Law. Don’t entrust this to anyone but a seasoned provider of email services. We have been using AWeber Autoresponders for many years and recommend them highly.

Your customer list is the lifeblood of your online marketing business. Don’t take any chances use AWeber Autoresponders. You can try the entire process out for free.

7 Online Marketing Tips For Beginners

Here are 7 online marketing tips for beginners. We all have to start somewhere and there is a learning curve for selling information and products on the internet. That is why I wanted to provide you with the best online marketing tips that I have developed.

1.) An online marketing tip that I would advise everyone to take is to take some time to learn a system. Almost every system can produce results. Don’t go from one system to the next. Take some time to learn one system.

2.) Take action! People get stuck with “analysis paralysis.” Once you have settled on a system and learned the basics, don’t be afraid to take action. Get out there and do it. If you make mistakes, so be it. You will have setbacks, but don’t worry about it. Fail fast and fail forward.

3.) Learn to write sales copy. Perhaps the most important online marketing tip I can give you is to learn to write sales copy. There may come a time when you outsource this task to professional copywriters, but knowing the basics yourself will allow you to evaluate their work. Besides, you probably can’t afford to spend thousands of dollars right now on a professional, so learning to do it yourself is important.

4.) Learn to write articles quickly. One of the best ways to promote your products is to write articles like this one and submit them to directories. But, if it takes you 2 hours to write a single article, you will not be able to put out the quantity needed to make money online. One expert has a system down where he can write articles in just 7 minutes. While it will probably take you more than that at first, strive to write at least two an hour. They don’t have to pass your 10th grade English teacher’s muster, they just have to send people to your site.

5.) Consider Pay Per Click. PPC is the quickest way to deliver traffic to your website. However, if you don’t learn how to do it, you can lose your shirt. If you have a product that you want to start selling right away, PPC is the best avenue for you. But learn the ins and outs before you bid on high priced, high trafficked keywords.

6.) Create processes. You shouldn’t re-invent the wheel every time you create a new product or a new web site. Instead, have a specific system. Develop your own guide book to setting up a blog or promoting an ebook. Not only will this save you time in the long run, it will also help you make more money. This is one of those online marketing tips that so many marketers miss.

7.) Create value. Don’t think that internet marketing is all about taking your customer’s money. Don’t think of your customers as “marks.” Develop relationships with them and provide value to them. It’s much harder to get an initial customer than have someone who trusts you buy from you again.

So, there are seven online marketing tips to get you going. Now, go get started!

XML Offers Neutral And Platform Independent Encapsulation Of Your Data

Extensible Mark-up Language (XML) has quickly established itself as a viable technology with a huge range of real-world applications. One of the key reasons for its importance and wide acceptance is that it offers a working solution to one of the key problems faced by software developers and computer users alike: the exchange of incompatible data. Each software environment produces its own unique type of binary file which only it can understand. Once data is exported in XML format, it becomes a known quantity, independent of the environment in which it was originated.
